What Happens After You Report Child Abuse

When you call the Indiana Child Abuse Hotline:

A DCS caseworker reviews the information.
If appropriate, DCS or law enforcement refers the child to Safe Harbor CAC.
At Safe Harbor, a trained forensic interviewer meets with the child in a safe, child-friendly environment.
Professionals from law enforcement, prosecution, mental health, medical health, and victim advocacy work together to protect the child and build a safety plan.
