Child Forensic Interviews
A Safe Place for Children to Share Their Story
Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center in Warsaw, Indiana provides a safe and supportive environment for children who have experienced abuse or have witnessed a crime. Our center specializes in child forensic interviews, offering a neutral space where children can comfortably share their experiences while trained professionals work together to protect their well-being.
What Are Child Forensic Interviews?
Child forensic interviews are structured conversations conducted by a trained, certified forensic interviewer. These interviews focus on gathering accurate and complete information from child victims or child witnesses in a way that is legally sound and developmentally appropriate.
The process allows children to share their experiences without pressure or fear while reducing the need for repeated questioning.
During each interview, our multidisciplinary team, which includes law enforcement, the Department of Child Services (DCS), prosecution, mental health providers, medical professionals, and victim advocates, observes remotely and collaborates to support the child.
Why Child Forensic Interviews Matter
Safe Harbor CAC believes that children deserve to feel safe and supported while sharing their story. Our approach minimizes trauma, ensures accurate information gathering, and helps hold offenders accountable. With a team of professionals working together, families receive coordinated care that prevents cases from “falling through the cracks.”
